In July 2020, Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé was announced as the cover star of the all three editions.[23][24] Erling Haaland, Trent Alexander-Arnold, João Félix, Sam Kerr, Wu Lei, Javier Hernández, and Carlos Vela were announced as the official ambassadors of the game.[25][26]

Upon its reveal, critics and fans criticised FIFA 21's box art, calling its composition incoherent and comparing it to the cover of EA Sports UFC 4, which received similar criticism.[43]
In mid-March 2021, players discovered that at least one EA employee was selling special "Icon Moment" cards from the Ultimate Team portion of the game, otherwise rare cards to be gained through grinding in the game or through microtransaction purchases with a chance to get one in new packs. These sales went for hundreds of U.S. dollars via direct sale through secret channels, rather than through the in-game trading system. This became known as "EAGate" as more players reported such sales.[44] EA launched an investigation, reporting initially that multiple EA accounts were apparently selling these Icon Moments through the game's "content granting" mechanism, which allows EA to normally grant players Ultimate Team items at its discretion outside of normal gameplay,[45] and later that it was indefinitely suspending the "content granting" system until they completed their investigation.[46]

EA Sports' FIFA series is one of the biggest bestselling game franchises in the world, with millions of avid gamers - including professionals - immersing themselves into the world of Ultimate Team on an annual basis. Getting on the cover of FIFA is now a matter of great prestige for footballers, not to mention financially rewarding thanks to the associated marketing and brand boon.
The likes of Eden Hazard and Virgil van Dijk have strong cases to continue as cover stars given their reputations and stature within the game. Indeed, considering Hazard's injury woes, it could even be argued that Van Dijk is now worthy of top billing, especially in light of the fact that he ran Lionel Messi close for the 2019 Ballon d'Or.
Messi, of course, is a perennial contender for the FIFA front cover, but his situation is complicated somewhat by the fact that Barcelona have an exclusive partnership with Konami's eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer game. Similarly, Cristiano Ronaldo is not likely to be on the FIFA 21 cover due to Juventus' partnership with Konami.
Mbappe's PSG team-mate Neymar is another strong contender and has history with EA Sports, having featured on the revamped cover of FIFA 19, though the Brazilian would undoubtedly prefer to have sole billing.
Every year, FIFA fans across the world are invited to vote for the player they would most like to see on the cover of the game, which, while it may not ultimately be heeded, gives EA Sports an indication of who might be the popular choice.
As mentioned, licensing agreements that exist with Konami mean that Barcelona and Juventus players are highly unlikely to feature on the front cover of FIFA 21. So, in addition to Messi and Ronaldo, it would appear to rule out popular players such as Antoine Griezmann, Paulo Dybala, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho.
Ronaldo had been appearing as the sole face on the cover of the game for the second time after also being the front of FIFA 18. A few years before the Portugal star took up occupancy on the cover, his eternal rival Messi had been the undisputed face of FIFA, appearing on the covers of FIFA 13, FIFA 14, FIFA 15 and FIFA 16.
EA Sports has tapped 21-year old PSG French superstar Kylian Mbappé as the cover athlete of FIFA 21. He will be featured on the standard cover of the upcoming title as well as the Champions and Ultimate Editions of the game. Mbappe is the second PSG player to grace the cover of a FIFA title, as Neymar was included alongside Cristiano Ronaldo on the Champions and Ultimate editions of FIFA 19.
Earning a cover credit this early in his career reflects how much the footballer has achieved at such a young age. Mbappé has ascended into a global icon following his senior debut for France in 2017. He became the youngest French player to score at a World Cup during the 2018 FIFA World Cup and became the second teenager behind Pelé to score in a World Cup final. He finished as the joint second-highest goalscorer as France won the tournament, and as such, received the Best Young Player and French Player of the Year awards for his performances.
Reflecting on being chosen as the new cover star, Mbappe said: "Being on the cover of FIFA is a dream come true. From my time at Bondy to Clairefontaine to the World Cup, this marks another big milestone. I've been playing this game since I was a kid and I am honored to represent a whole new generation of footballers and be in the same group as many other amazing footballers who I now share this honor with."
"As our FIFA franchise accelerates towards the next generation of player experience, we know our cover athlete needs to truly embody both the future of our game and the future of football as a whole. Kylian represents what we're bringing to the experience this year, from his commitment to advancing football culture, to his deep social connections and relentless desire to take his game to the next level. We're excited to partner with Kylian in driving the World's Game forward."
All the latest kits and squads were to be made available in the official download, with additions such as Saint Petersburg Stadium and Wembley Stadium, the latter of which is due to host the semi-finals and final.
The next-gen editions of FIFA 21 and Madden NFL 21 will be available to download on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S starting December 4, several weeks after the new consoles launch, with free upgrades for current-gen owners. Just like every other major publisher and developer, EA has begun preparing for the launch of the next-gen consoles and has already revealed that EA Play will be included in Xbox Game Pass beginning on November 10.
Although EA had never confirmed exactly when FIFA 21 and Madden NFL 21 would release on next-gen consoles, fans will no doubt be upset to discover that they won't be able to play the upgraded versions of the games until December. Hopefully, the slight delay will mean that the games launch with few issues and will not feature any major bugs or technical issues.
Still unfortunately is doing exactly what it was doing at the start, stuck on preparing download. I just find it interesting that every other game I try to install through the EA Desktop app has the spinning circle while it tries to allocate disk space, Fifa just instantly pops up without the circle.
As for the four steps aforementioned, they are: Look at the obvious: the fact sheet of the piece.Analyze the artwork: describing the piece in terms of subject matter, color, and style.if(typeof ez_ad_units!='undefined')ez_ad_units.push([[300,250],'gamefreaks365_com-medrectangle-4','ezslot_3',111,'0','0']);__ez_fad_position('div-gpt-ad-gamefreaks365_com-medrectangle-4-0');Decide on an interpretation: a pretty straightforward interpretation for the intents and purposes of this feature.Make a judgment call: is the piece, i.e. the cover art, successful in conveying the intended message?Manageable, right? Here it goes!
Regional covers in other parts of the world include Jude Bellingham/David Beckham (England), Christian Pulisic/Clint Dempsey (USA), Kai Havertz/Rudi Völler (Germany), Pedri/Xabi Alonso (Spain), Joao Felix/Luis Figo (Portugal) and more.
The only caveat is that, if you bought the physical disc copy for PS4, you will not be able to upgrade it on a PS5 Digital Edition console without a drive (you have to have the digital download version for that).
However, there is a workaround. If you search the PlayStation Store for FIFA 21, select the first result (which should be the FIFA 21 standard edition), and press x on the Download Trial window - the one next to the pre-order window - you can get FIFA 21 downloading.
With Callien Mbepe announced as the main cover star, Paris Saint-Germain is expected to be included in the demo. There is also a good chance that AC Milan and Inter Milan will have one or both performances, as both clubs have agreed with EA Sports before the game is released.
This doesn't mean FIFA underperformed. Indeed, last year, FIFA 21's launch download sales were up 31% compared with the year before, marking the first time more people downloaded FIFA in the UK than bought it in a box. We will see the download performance for FIFA 22 later in the week when the GSD charts are released.
In order to allow users to get the most out of the game, EA has promised the notion of Dual Entitlement, allowing those who download FIFA 21 digitally on current platforms to have a free download for the new next-gen systems post purchase. EA has confirmed this with all of their sports titles releasing in advance of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, which both have yet to announce themselves a specified launch date but are expected towards the end of this year.
